Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Steer It. By using the game or creating an account, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
1. Who we are
We are not registered for VAT. "We", "us" and "our" refer to the operator above; "you" refers to the user.
2. What Steer It is
Steer It is a browser-based multiplayer party racing game. One person (the host) runs it on a computer or tablet; other players join by scanning a QR code and use their phones as tilt controllers. Steer It is provided as an online service accessed through your web browser — there is nothing to download.
3. Accounts
- You can play Steer It for free without an account. An account is only needed for Premium features.
- You must be 15 years of age or older to create an account.
- One account is for one person. Keep your login details secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Nicknames must not be offensive, hateful, harassing, or impersonate others. We may change or remove nicknames that break this rule.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that cheats, abuses the service, or breaks these terms.
4. Free and Premium
Steer It offers a Free tier (no account required) and a Premium tier.
- Premium is a one-time purchase of $6.90. It is not a subscription — there are no recurring charges.
- Premium unlocks additional maps, game modes, simulation mode and the leaderboard, and removes promotional pop-ups.
- Premium entitlement is tied to the account that purchased it and is non-transferable.
5. 12-month access guarantee
We guarantee your Premium access for at least 12 months from the date of purchase. After that period, we may, at our discretion, change or discontinue the service or specific features. We do not promise lifetime access. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice where practicable.
6. Payments and VAT
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe acts as the merchant of record / managed-payments provider for the transaction. The seller is not registered for VAT; where VAT or similar tax is due on your purchase, it is calculated, collected and remitted by Stripe. Your payment details are handled by Stripe under their terms and privacy policy — see our Privacy Policy for what we do and do not store.
7. Acceptable use
When using Steer It you agree not to:
- hack, attack, overload or interfere with the service or its infrastructure;
- bypass or attempt to bypass the free/premium gating, or otherwise obtain premium content without paying;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the game's premium content or assets;
- use the service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others' rights.
8. Intellectual property
Steer It, including its code, artwork, game design, name and logo, is owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the game for your own entertainment. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the game or its assets except as allowed by these terms or by law.
9. Availability and "as is"
Steer It is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We may perform maintenance, update, or temporarily suspend the service.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you arising out of or relating to Steer It is limited to the amount you actually paid us (for most users, the $6.90 Premium price, or nothing if you use the free tier).
Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, and nothing removes the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Steer It and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how deletion is handled). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, abuse, or where required by law.
12. Changes to these terms or the service
We may update these terms or the service from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes take reasonable steps to notify account holders. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you reside. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of your home country.
14. Out-of-court dispute resolution
Please contact us first at steeritapp@gmail.com — we aim to resolve any problem quickly. If you are a consumer and we cannot settle a dispute directly, you have the right to out-of-court resolution through the competent Czech authority: the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, ČOI), www.coi.cz.
